David Young has 22 years experience in professional bowmaking, with 3 years as a bowmaker in the Hans Weisshaar shop in Los Angeles from 1982-1985. He has repair and restoration experience with bows by nearly all the great old makers.
Since graduating from UCLA in 1965, he has earned Journeyman's (1984) and Master Bowmaker degrees (1994) from the American Federation of Violin and Bowmakers.
He has received 20 awards in international competitions sponsored by the A.F.V.B.M, the VSA and Mittenwald, including a gold medal from the VSA.
